Terms of Use

Last updated July 21, 2026

Plain-language terms for a simple service: free tools, best-effort results, and your documents remain your responsibility.

The service

getPDFpress provides free, browser-based PDF tools: compression toward size targets, merging, splitting, and file conversion. Using the site means you accept these terms.

Best effort, honestly reported

Compression targets such as 500KB and 200KB are best-effort, not guaranteed. Scanned, image-heavy, encrypted, or unusually complex PDFs may not reach a target in readable form. When that happens the tool returns the smallest readable result it produced, along with an honest explanation, and it will never return a file larger than your original.

Your responsibilities

  1. Only upload files you own or are authorized to process.
  2. Check every downloaded file before submitting it to a job portal, government form, school, or business. You are the final quality control.
  3. Keep your own backups. Originals are deleted from our server within 30 minutes.
  4. Do not attempt to abuse, overload, or attack the service. Rate limits and security controls are in place and enforced.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to process unlawful content or to violate the rights of others. We may block traffic that abuses the service, without notice.

No warranty

The service is provided as-is, free of charge, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, getPDFpress is not liable for losses arising from use of the service, including missed deadlines, rejected submissions, or file corruption. Keep backups of important documents before processing.

Third-party processing

PDF to Word and Word to PDF conversions are performed by ConvertAPI, a third-party conversion service, as described in the privacy policy.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the service evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
